SAPAA Friendster Turns Three (3) Years!

May 14th, 2009 by sapaa-unor

Long lived SAPAA and READS Scholars!

Let’s all continue to live and work with values and teachings that our Alma Mater (UNO-R) and our Recollect Fathers taught us. Wherever part of the world we are now, we may still continue to be a good example & an inspiration to young working scholars; to continue to dream high, believe in themselves, study & work harder, play and have strong faith to God.

Nothing is sweeter than enjoying the fruits of our labor through our own  hardships and prayers. To young working scholars, you may stumble along your
way but don’t ever ever give up your dreams; dream for yourself and for your family!  The pains, tears, and all struggles in your college life are just temporary, these are an instruments to sharpen your faith & to help you mold the kind of person you wanted to be. Enjoy every moment being a working scholar, camaraderie with fellow READS cos someday, you’ll become professional you would still wish to come back to UNO-R, enjoy the x’mas party, monthly allowance, sports feast, initiation, and many other contests and events like most of us are longing for.

Congratulations to all of us! Happy Happy 3rd year SAPAA Friendster! We look forward to see more of our manongs ang manangs here! Of course, young (READS) working scholars, you are most welcome to join - remember, if you feel down, stressed in studies and work, if you think of giving up your dreams, just
find time to reach out the seniors, read our SAP testimonies, in that way, we may help you enlighten and encourage you to pursue what you have started
and finish your degree. Just send us email, we’re here to listen to all your battles and victorious moments.

Personally, at this very moment, I’m not here now in my room, using my laptop writing this blog if once in my life, I wasn’t given a chance to clean the College of…., to assist the faculty members - checking their attendance, helping the regular students during enrollment, taking and bringing the test questionnaires from/to property custodian. I don’t see myself working abroad now if I wasn’t
given a chance to map the foor, clean the office, experience scolded by some arrogant regular students, etc… Therefore, everything I have now in my profession is because once in my life, I was a working student in UNO-R under the SAP (Student Assistance Program).

Thank you very much to our dear Recollect Fathers, to UNO-R Administration, to Our Dear Nang Nilds - our forever nanay sa SAP, nang Cathy and nang Jane!
We truly miss you all and forever be thankful to all the supports you always extend during our time!!!

Again, Happy 3rd Year Anniversary SAPAA Friendster!

SAPAA Friendster Turns Two (2) Years!

May 13th, 2008 by sapaa-unor

Today is another milestone for all SAPAA Friendster Members! Many have now succeeded in their respective chosen career. Some are now working abroad, happily married & some remain single holding their own torch - keep the SAP Spirit burning with the core values that O.A.R. Fathers instilled them.

I didn’t expect that this SAPAA Friendster would have gone this far now, members coming from any side of this world. I was in small internet café surrounded by grade school students playing online games (Students who don’t know yet what life really is stored for them). At that time, I was just wandering so I decided to communicate with old friends, classmates, manong/manang in SAP and former officemates. For me, nothing brings people together from different parts of the world more conveniently than the internet. So I created a Friendster Account exclusively for all SAP Members so that they can still get connected anywhere and be seen by his old friends in SAP. So there you go guys, this happened two years ago. I will be forever thankful for this program and it is my own little way in giving tribute to them.

What I have now in my present time is because of those people who have played an important role in my past. One thing is for sure – SAP Family inspired me to become who I am today. A family that strengthened my relationship with God, thought me the courage & humility despite hardships in life. That in this wilderness of this world, wherever we are now, we will never emerge as productive and stronger workers if we never hardened off through stressful situations during our college life. Thank you to this account, we are once again, gathered as a whole and still living with the ideals of St. Augustine with values that have been placed deeply in our hearts by our Alma Mater .

Indeed, SAPAA Friendster is now being recognized by other UNO-R Administrators and other Office Staff. It has also served as an instrument to others to make old friends in SAP Family be reunited. Some haven’t seen each other for years or a decade now. However, through this account, they have now open communication and probably have seen each other again – bringing back the old times - yet sweet memories in SAP.

So guys, if you have something to share with us now, like your unforgettable experience in this program, feel free to add comment/testimonial and your inspiring stories to young generations. For those who have just attended the 20th SAPAA Homecoming 2008 last May 4, our heartfelt thanks to all of you guys, you just don’t know how you have made this another special event a memorable one. Hope that we will see each other (again) next year and in the next homecoming years to come.

Happy 2nd Birthday SAPAA Friendster! Thank you.

God Bless us all!!!

SAPAA Friendster Turns 1 Year

The Making of SAPAA Friendster Account: From the desk of SAPAA Friendster Moderator I would like to sincerely thank you for being part of this SAPAA Friendster Account. If you can spare me few moment of your time, then I’m willing to share with you as how this account was created. It all started last year month of May from a personal conversation with a good friend of mine who’s also a SAP Alumnus and was planning to attend the SAP Alumni Homecoming ‘2006. While we were sharing our thoughts regarding about our chosen field, we got to share the "not-so-old" days we had in our SAP family, reminiscing the significant events and the never ending heartrending & delightful memories. I asked myself and my friend if it is still possible for me to reach out all my friends in SAP and if we could still get together as we usually did during our free time (though not really as free time as we were all loaded by our works & studies at the same time) I was hoping for the possible chance for us to reunite and bring back the happy days we had together. Just to take you back guys from where we all started, hundreds or thousands of fellow aspiring applicants waiting & and the only thing we had with ourselves was the courage & hopes to pass the exams & series of interviews. Accompanied by a lot of Prayers, we made it! Thank you GOD! The bond started when we shared the hardships in life we had with our family during SAP Retreat/Recollection, it was really such heartwarming and unforgettable experience. I felt that we were so important being part of the program seeing our meals served by our Manongs & Manangs in SAP. Another remarkable experience was the craziest we did during SAP Initiation; many hidden talents were unleashed especially during the Search for Mr. & Ms. SAP Neophyte. Paying tribute to seniority by acknowledging our Manongs & Manangs during SAP Initiation; getting to know the SAP Alumni, some are the present University Administrators & Office Staff, likewise our respective & supportive O.A.R. Fathers. From the Solemn Mass every first Friday of the month, to the wackiest SAP Christmas Party with allowance/bonus afterwards, to the wildest meetings of different team colors during sports fest and of course, Augustinian Fellowship with all fun games and contests. I will never forget also our P120 monthly allowance, and the submission of requirements for summer job application, everybody was in a hurry to complete the requirements and make it before the deadline. Thank you to Manang Cathy, Manang Jane, Manang Nilds & staff who always go beyond their job responsibilities to cater our needs. The happiness you see in the eyes of the parents of SAP Graduates was incomparable, seeing their children getting up the stage wearing toga & receiving their diplomas. As what Engr. Marvic Elix (Former SAP President SY 2002-2003 and SAP Model 2003) mentioned to his SAP Testimony “Tanan nga pag-antos, kasakit, luha kag balhas nangin hapin na sa akon huna-huna nga akon naagom, pero ang kalipay ko nga nakagraduate bilang bugal sang SAP naghaplos sa akon nga dughan”. These memories will always remain forever, wherever my dream will bring or brought me now, SAP Family & friends will always have space in my heart. So there, I just want all of us guys be reunited wherever we are, some are presently working abroad and it’s a nice feeling knowing that through this account, we are all be able to communicate with one another especially with our ever dear Manang Nilds, the mother of all young and old professionals. As I write this letter today, this account has a total of 110 members. More power guys! Thank you and HAPPY 1st YEAR SAPAA FRIENDSTER! God bless us all! “NON PALMA SINE LABORE”

Before anything else I extend my warmest thank you to the OAR FATHERS’ and to the scholarship of UNO – RECOLETOS, especially to our very kind and lovable mother and DIRECTRESS, Ms. Nilda Jamili, to the staff Nang Cathy and Nang Jane. Thank you so much for the opportunity that you’ve given to me to be a SAP GRANTEE, WE BACK THOSE COLLEGE YEARS.

It’s my great pleasure to write my testimony here. Just to refresh everybody here I was assigned in the College of Info. Technology Office, I was very happy then that I assigned there you know I’ve got a lot great bossings’ especially the DEAN, Mr. Elmer Haro.

Being a SA makes my life more enjoyable and worth living, because for the experiences I’ve gain, lessons in life that as long you grow old and old, still it is unforgettable and it’s great to reminisce.
You know what if I could remember those time I was smilin’ to myself we’re nagapilahay kami for the monthly allowance which is 150.00 and everybody nagapila tapos ang iba hala naga pandas-ok para sila una makakuha nang allowance kasi 150.00 is already a big thing for us. Also during sports fest so very unforgettable kasi pirmi kami busog kasi sobra sobra ang amon ginakuha..christian at alter. Pila ka bilog inyo gin kuha na tinapay????diin na ang iban na juice?????hahahahaha.

I’m thankful enough coz I achieve my dreams gradually but surely, but for me life is never ending, life is an unending journey as they say…as long as your alive in this earthly world contentment is hard to get, everyday we’re aiming for the better, but always remember don’t forget to thank GOD FOR THE BLESSINGS.

To our newly SA, I would like you to remember that in times of sufferings, pains, troublesomes, obstacles, challenges, never never give up…fight and fight coz after you’ve gone all these, there is a fulfillment with in you that you can say…THANKS GOD I DO IT….I MADE IT successfully….

ALWAYS REMEMBER NON PALMA SINE LABORE!!!!!!
